Psychiatry Now is an on-line private psychiatry clinic. Established in 2023 by myself, Dr Anna Wilkin, with the aim of providing timely psychiatric support for a wide range of clients.
With 18 years of experience of treating NHS patients, in a variety of settings from people’s homes through to acute psychiatric units, I can apply the knowledge gained to each individual situation. Every person is unique, as are their circumstances, stressors and ways of coping.
Having worked for 4 years at consultant level for a Home Treatment Team in Worcestershire, my expertise is in the following areas:
At the start of 2025, I expanded my business, from being Worcestershire based to now offering support to patients in Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
The first step after booking an appointment, either by phone or via the booking page of my website, is a full Psychiatric Assessment.
This will involve taking a complete history, covering your mental health and personal experiences since childhood. Also discussed will be your current social circumstances, physical health and medications past and present.
The final part of the initial psychiatric assessment will be looking at diagnosis and a suitable treatment plan. This can be psychological treatment or medication; or as is often the case when seeking the best outcome, a combination of both approaches.
I will communicate with your GP after the assessment and update as required.
Follow up appointments will be encouraged, if medication is prescribed, to check response and adjust the care plan accordingly.
